Eleven new startups have joined the unicorn club in India this year, taking the total number to 73, according to the ASK Private Wealth Hurun India Unicorn and Future Unicorn Report 2025.

The newly minted unicorns include Ai.tech, Navi Technologies, Rapido, Netradyne, Jumbotail and Darwinbox.

India’s startup ecosystem saw funding activity from multiple investors and Peak XV Partners emerged the largest backer with 42 bets across startups.


The most valuable unicorns include Zerodha at $8.2 billion, Razorpay and Lenskart at $7.5 billion each, and Groww at $7 billion. These companies collectively employ over 206,000 people, with Lenskart, OfBusiness, and PhysicsWallah leading in workforce size.

The report noted the growing diversity among startups, with women founders such as Ruchi Kalra (OfBusiness), Vineeta Singh (SUGAR Cosmetics), and Garima Sawhney (Pristyn Care). The youngest unicorn founders include 22-year-olds Kaivalya Vohra and Aadit Palicha of Zepto.

Bengaluru remains the top hub with 26 unicorns valued at $70 billion, followed by Delhi-NCR and Mumbai. Fintech dominates the unicorn landscape both in numbers and valuations.
