NEW DELHI: Seeking to grab a significant chunk of the estimated Rs 6,400 crore small and medium business (SMB) IT peripheral market, Xerox India Ltd (XIL) has set out on an aggressive strategy, which includes increasing all India presence by 10 per cent this year.
"In 2007-08 we should reach the third phase of our turnaround strategy which will see us have a complete array of products, aggressive engagement of traditional channels and prominent SMB marketing campaign," Xerox India Managing Director Andrew Horne told reporters here.
He said the company would work towards realising the opportunity presented by the SMB segment, which spent about Rs 6,355 crore in IT peripherals last year.
XIL, which touched a turnover of Rs 557 crore last fiscal at a growth of about 23 per cent, is intensifying its focus on the SMB segment to push the topline growth further, he added.
Horne, however, declined to give any projections and estimates stating the "market segment is young" and it is difficult to predict.

Company Executive Director (New Office Group) Natesh Mani said Xerox, which launched eight new products on Thursday, would increase its presence in India by 10 per cent this year."We are looking to strengthen presence in many cities, including Ludhiana, Pune, Aurangabad, Vizag, Jamshedpur and Dehradun," Mani said.
The company has earmarked Rs 12 crore, out of a total Rs 17 crore brand building budget, for demand generation and market development activities for the SMB segment in India, he added.
