Wipro opens development centre in Chennai
Wipro launches development centre for Zurich Financial Services in Chennai.

BANGALORE: Wipro Technologies, the global IT services division of Wipro Ltd, launched its offshore development unit for Zurich Financial Services group (Zurich) in Chennai on Monday.
The two groups of companies signed a framework agreement earlier this year, for Wipro Technologies to provide application development and maintenance services in seven countries, a Wipro release said.
"Wipro is a valuable ASP sourcing provider, with a strong offshore delivery record....this relationship will also help us consolidate our sourcing strategy," a senior official of Zurich Financial Group Michael Paravicini said.
Zurich Financial Services Group is an insurance-based financial services provider with a global network of subsidiaries and offices in North America, Latin America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
It has around 58,000 people serving its customers in over 170 countries.
