Wipro bags IT services deal from Electricity North West

The value of the deal was not disclosed. Electricity North West owns, operates and maintains electricity distribution network throughout north-west England.

NEW DELHI: IT firm Wipro Technologies today said it has bagged a 5-year IT deal with Electricity North West.

The value of the deal was, however, not disclosed. Electricity North West owns, operates and maintains electricity distribution network throughout the north-west of England.

Under the agreement, Wipro will set-up new data centres and set up necessary applications to support the company, Wipro said in a statement.

Wipro will also leverage its global remote infrastructure management to provide fully managed IT services, it added.

"This opportunity extends our footprint in the UK Energy and Utilities industry," Anand Padmanabhan, Senior VP and Head - Energy & Utilities, Wipro Technologies said.
