Voda Idea launches security service for employee devices

NEW DELHI: Vodafone Idea’s enterprise arm, on Wednesday, launched the Vodafone Secure Device Manager (VSDM) powered by IBM’s security software to safeguard employee data, content and apps on their devices.

The platform, using IBM Security MaaS360 software, will secure emails and protect devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops and desktops, while respecting the privacy of the employees. It will defend against malware and other threats, Single Sign On (SSO) to Web & SaaS Apps, and Business Dashboard for Apps, the company said in a release.

“The rising trend of bring-your-own-device and increased security threat of data stored in the cloud and transferred over networks highlights the need for a product like VSDM. We are happy to partner with IBM to offer VSDM to support our enterprise and small business customers in their endeavour for data security and digitization,” Anil Philip, EVP (Products), Vodafone Idea said in the statement.

Vodafone Idea Limited’s reach and expertise coupled with IBM’s proficiency in data security can be leveraged to help enterprises secure their devices, prevent malware and permit seamless scalability,” said Vaidyanathan Iyer, Security Software Leader, IBM India South Asia.

The product is available for large and small enterprises and the government; customizable as per their needs. It offers affordable pricing with operating-expense billing, back office team support and a 30-day free trial with unlimited licenses, the press release said.
