Uniphore seeks to double headcount to 140 by FY16-end to boost operations
NEW DELHI: The Chennai-based Uniphore Software Systems plans to double its headcount to 140 by the end of this fiscal as the speech recognition solutions firm bolsters its operations in India, the Middle-East and the US.

The company, which counts Infosys co-founder Kris Gopalakrishnan, IDG Ventures India and India Angel Network among its investors, said it will expand its core technology team as well as the one responsible for managed services in Chennai and Bangalore, respectively.

"We will double this number by the end of the year, March 2016," Uniphore Software Systems co-founder and CEO Umesh Sachdev told PTI while speaking about staff strength.

The company has recently launched a new version of its speech analytics software solution, auMina.

auMina enables contact centres to drive critical business goals by analysing existing speech data to identify trends, predict outcomes and prescribe business process improvements while allowing these to lower costs.

The software supports over 25 Indian and international languages with 95 per cent accuracy.

Uniphore Software Systems was incubated in IIT Chennai in 2008 and currently has offices in India, the Philippines and the UAE.

Its investors include IDG Ventures India, India Angel Network, Yournest Fund and Stata Ventures. It has worked with over 70 enterprise customers and served over 4 million end users.

"Globally, the contact centre market is worth about USD 9 billion and India and the Philippines account for a major chunk of the market. Analytics in voice is not just a discretionary spending anymore as more and more clients see this as a method to increase efficiency," he said.

Sachdev identified sectors like banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), telecom and hospitality as key drivers for the company.
