UIDAI gets corporates on board to suggest publicity strategy

NEW DELHI: Infosys's founder Nandan Nilekani headed Unique Identification Authority of India has roped in corporate honchos to advice it on awareness and communication strategy.

The UIDAI, which aims to provide a unique 16-digit number to all residents of the country by next year, has now formed an Awareness and Communications Strategy Advisory Council.

On board are Kiran Khalap -- co-founder and Managing Director of brand consultancy firm Chlorophyll, Santosh Desai -- CEO Future Brands, Sumeet Vohra -- Head of the Marketing wing of the P&G, Praveen Tripathi -- President (Marketing and sales Services) Pidilite Industries besides D K Bose, founder trustee of Centre for Advocacy and Research.

As per the office Memorandum, the charter of the council is to recommend the awareness and communication strategies for achieving goals of the UIDAI most effectively.

It is also to recommend any additional research or study needed to be undertaken to further understand mindsets, attitudes, behaviour and habits among others of the diverse Indian target audience for the UIDAI.

The Council has to present its strategy report at the end of three-month period given to it by the Authority.
