UIDAI chief Nandan Nilekani gives RBI, bankers presentation on Aadhaar project
UIDAI chief Nandan Nilekani today made a presentation before the RBI brass and bankers on the initiatives being taken under Aadhaar project.

"Nilekani outlined the whole Aadhaar programme and how it can be integrated with the ambitious direct benefit transfer programme, what can be the way forward, what kind of possibilities are there," Bank of Baroda Chairman and Managing Director S S Mundhra told reporters after the meeting here.
He termed the presentation by Nilekani, the Infosys co-founder who joined the government to steer one of the largest population registering projects in the world, as "lucid".
"We discussed how do we integrate with the UIDAI ( Unique Identification Authority of India) and how it would shape up. We have decided to work harder," State Bank Chairman Pratip Chaudhuri said.
Reserve Bank Governor D Subbarao was present during the meeting, apart from chiefs from all the major banks.
It may be recalled that the Centre announced the launch of the direct benefit transfer (DBT) last November which aims at directly transferring subsidies to the beneficiaries.
