TCS to set up software facility in Hy'bad

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will set up a Rs 400 crore software development facility spread across 75 acre of land in Andhra Pradesh, for which it signed an agreement with the state government today.

HYDERABAD: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will set up a Rs 400 crore software development facility spread across 75 acre of land in Andhra Pradesh, for which it signed an agreement with the state government today.

The facility will be set up near the new international airport at Adibatla as part of Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC)'s SEZ project. It will have a seating capacity of 15,000.

The MoU was signed by the state's Information Technology and Communications Secretary Shailendra Kumar Joshi and TCS's Regional Head (Hyderabad) V Rajanna in the presence of Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.

As per the agreement, the state government will help facilitate acquisition of land besides providing infrastructural support through APIIC and single window clearance for quick, easy and efficient implementation of the project, TCS Chief Financial Officer S Mahalingam told reporters.

TCS currently employs over 5,000 professionals in Hyderabad and plans to employ additional 2,500 this fiscal.
