TCS to hire 4,000 people overseas

TCS is to recruit 4,000 people overseas this year as a part of its plan to strengthen its global footprint.

CHENNAI: TCS is to recruit 4,000 people overseas this year as a part of its plan to strengthen its global footprint, a senior official said. Mr S Padmanabhan , executive vice-president & head, global human resources, TCS, it would hire close to 1,000 people in Latin America (Brazil), 800 in the US, and the rest in China and Hungary. Presently, non-Indians account for 7.5% of its total workforce, a number that’s set to expand.

TCS had acquired three companies — based in Australia (FNS), Chile (Comicrom) and UK (Diligenta ) — in the last six months and is in the process of integrating them, he said. TCS has operations in 11 countries , and employs over 65,000 people . It added 7,000 people in the first quarter , and would add a similar number in the second quarter
