TCS plans to cut costs

IT major TCS' CEO and managing director S Ramadorai in a candid admission said that in the wake of the global financial crisis the company too has resorted to cost cutting measures.

HYDERABAD: IT major TCS' CEO and managing director S Ramadorai in a candid admission said that in the wake of the global financial crisis the company too has resorted to cost cutting measures.

They include restrictions rationalising on travel, power, communications, and raising productivity of the employees.

However, when asked if the company has given any pink slips to its employees he said, "None. Also, we have not announced any sabbatical for our employees." Further, the company is neither putting any employees on corporate social responsibility work. This, he said while addressing the media on the sidelines of the Internet Governance Forum 2008.
