TCS named as a top global BPO provider

One of the factors that helped TCS win the IAOP accolade is the work it is doing with the Pearl Group limited, a UK-based life insurance firm with two million customers and USD 55 billion of assets.

MUMBAI: Tata Group company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has been named as one of the world's top BPO providers by The International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP), for 2006, a press release issued here on Thursday said.
One of the factors that helped TCS win the IAOP accolade is the work it is doing with the Pearl Group limited, a UK-based life insurance firm with two million customers and USD 55 billion of assets.
Under a recently signed 12-year, USD 847 million agreement, a newly-formed TCS subsidiary has taken over the administration of the Pearl Group's four million policies, will provide finance and accounting services, and manage the company's day-to-day human resources activities.
TCS has already assumed the Pearl Group's back-office operations.
Michael F Corbett, Executive Director, IAOP, said that "being selected to the Top BPO Providers list for 2006 is a tremendous achievement that speaks of TCS' position as one of the industry's most valuable partners. As the global standard- setting organisation and advocate for the outsourcing profession, IAOP is pleased to recognise TCS with this prestigious award."
