Sun Microsystems announces new sales division

NEW DELHI: To enhance its sales coverage in emerging markets, IT firm Sun Microsystems on Friday formed a new business vertical, Emerging Market Sales Region, headed by Anil Valluri.

The company thought of creating this vertical as it reported 20 per cent growth in Brazil, 30 per cent in India and 18 per cent in the Middles-East, Africa and Eastern Europe region in the third quarter of fiscal 2008, the company said in a release.

With the formation of this new division, the company has made some leadership changes to accommodate the new sales geographic coverage model within and outside India, it added.
