Software to help curb foeticide
To curb the menace of female foeticide, the Haryana Health Department has developed a "Mother and Child Tracking" software.
The software had already been uploaded in computers installed in all the community health centres, a spokesman of the Health Department said here on Sunday.
The officials and health workers had been asked to identify and register pregnant women in their respective areas, he said.
Forms for the registration of pregnant women had already been supplied to them, the spokesman said.
The information collected by the health and anganwadi workers would be fed in the computers of health centres and information would be made available online, he said.
The latest information would be made available at the headquarters of the health department and in offices of civil surgeons, the spokesman said.
The officers would regularly monitor the information regarding pregnant women and children and take effective steps to check the menace of female foeticide in the state, he said.
