NEW DELHI: Alappuzha Based Techgentsia Software Technologies has emerged as the winner in a government of India contest to choose the best home-grown Video Conference (VC) Solution.

The VC Solution called Vconsol will be given financial support of Rs 1 crore with additional Rs 10 lakhs towards operations and maintenance for the next three years and will be deployed by the government for its internal use through a contract.

Ravi Shankar Prasad, Union Minister for Electronics & IT, Communications and Law & Justice, said that Indian entrepreneurs and innovators have responded to the clarion call for Aatma Nirbhar Bharat and have come up with some world class video conferencing solutions in a short span of four months. "We are committed to develop India’s software product and mobile app economy in a big way and efforts like this will go a long way in that direction.”


Three more solutions by Jaipur based Sarv Webs, PeopleLink Unified Communications from Hyderabad and Chennai based Instrive Softlabs have also been identified as potential products. They will be given Rs. 25 Lakh each for further maturing their product within a period of three months. These three products will be further analyzed by a technical committee and subsequently the Ministry of Electronics and IT will recommend to onboard all selected four products on the government e-marketplace (GeM).

Over the last few months, the ministry of electronics and IT has launched several contents to promote home-grown companies including those for semiconductors and mobile applications.
