Satyam already has a global solution centre, with a capacity of 100 seats, in Malaysia since the last three years. Talking to ET, Satyam founder and chairman B Ramalinga Raju said, "we have nine development centers in the Asia-Pacific region. We will quickly ramp up the new global delivery campus in KL to 500 associates. Eventually, we will have 2,000 employees over the next four years."
The Malaysia global delivery centre would focus on areas like data warehousing and business intelligence. The company's current staff strength in Malaysia comprises two-thirds local talent. Admitting that attrition levels in Malaysia were better than India, Mr Raju said, "we will have an appropriate blend of local and global talent in the delivery campus."
To tap the potential of Malaysia's engineering talent, Satyam had started first mass recruitment programme for fresh graduates outside of India in 2004. Till date, over 65 Malaysian engineering graduates have been trained by the organization and absorbed as full-time employees in the global solution center in Kuala Lumpur.
