IT services provider Mahindra Satyam is set to ramp up its footprint in the Latin American market and explore opportunities for alliances in the local business arena, it said on Friday.

HYDERABAD: IT services provider Mahindra Satyam is set to ramp up its footprint in the Latin American market and explore opportunities for alliances in the local business arena, it said on Friday. This comes on the back of the company winning two multimillion-dollar contracts to be executed by its subsidiary, Satyam Servicos De Informatica, present in Brazil.

The subsidiary, which has appointed Alberto Rosati as the country head for this operation, is also looking at hiring another 100 associates over the next six months. It currently has around 50 employees working there. “Our goal is to be the top player in the Latin American market leveraging Mahindra Satyam’s existing global delivery model. The Latin American market is growing rapidly and we see immense growth opportunity in the region,” said Arvind Malhotra, senior vice president, Mahindra Satyam.

The company in a statement said the two contracts are from a global conglomerate and a leading player in the logistics sector, without divulging further details. The subsidiary would deploy technology in the enterprise business systems space and aid in enhancing the supply chain operation of these two organizations, it said.
