Satyam scam: AP govt gives consent to CBI inquiry
A key factor that may lead to the case's transfer to the CBI is that it will benefit from a fast judicial process.

In his letter to the PM, Andhra Pradesh CM Y S Reddy had said it would be appropriate if the CBI takes over the Satyam investigation from the CID. He had said that transferring the case to the national probe agency would ensure co-ordination between various enforcement agencies to look into Satyam's overseas operations.
Other agencies involved in the case are the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) and capital market regulator Sebi, even as other agencies like the income tax department and the Enforcement Directorate are looking at specific aspects of the scam.
Another key factor that may lead to the cases transfer is that it will benefit from a fast judicial process. If the investigation is transferred to the CBI, all judicial processes, thereafter, will be initiated in the CBI's designated courts rather than any other court, explained the official.
The SFIO, as well as Sebi, has faced problems in getting permission for custodial interrogation of disgraced Satyam founder B Ramalinga Raju.
