Satyam bags 3-yr contract extn from Nestle
Leading IT company Satyam Computer Services has bagged a three-year contract extension from food and beverage company Nestle Corporation.

MUMBAI: Leading IT company Satyam Computer Services has bagged a three-year contract extension from food and beverage company Nestle Corporation.
Satyam is working with Nestle to establish global business practices based on a common technology platform, wherein it would provide services such software development, maintenance and infrastructure management, Satyam said in a communique to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
"We are extremely pleased to be continuing our work with Nestle," Subu D Subrarmanian, Director and Senior Vice- president, Manufacturing and Automotive Practice, said.
As a result of this agreement, the number of the company consultants working for Nestle is expected to grow close to 500 over the next year, Satyam added.
Subrarmanian further added, "We measure business success in many ways, but none more important than long-term customer relationships. With Nestle, we have equally proud of the results we delivered and the strength of our partnership."
Nestle operates 500 factories in 85 countries and employs over 250,000 people worldwide.
Earlier in March 2004, Satyam had bagged a contract from Nestle for a dedicated overseas development centre (ODC) in Bangalore and a disaster recovery centre in Hyderabad. The Hyderabad unit would be gradually converted into another ODC.
Shares of Satyam were trading at Rs 463.85, up 0.44 per cent on BSE in morning trade.
