SAP aims 1 lakh customer base by 2010

Global enterprise software major SAP AG has set an ambitious target to enroll one lakh customers in India by by 2010.

NEW DELHI: Global enterprise software major SAP AG has set an ambitious target to enroll one lakh customers in India by by 2010 by aggressively focusing on the emerging as well and small and medium-sized firms.

The company, which two centres in India SAP Labs and SAP India, has doubled its customer base to 2000 in the last one year.

"We plan to increase our customer base to 1 lakh by 2010 and we will aggressively expand small and medium - sized customer segment," SAP CEO and Chairman Henning Kagermann told reporters here.

The company, which had last year announced one-billion dollar (4,500 crore) investment for a period of 5 years, today reaffirmed its commitment to India stating the country would remain a priority for growth in SAP's scheme of things.

SAP India, is a leading enterprise software solutions company which completed a decade of operations in India this year, had empowered over 1,050 Indian companies.

SAP Labs India, which has facilities in Bangalore and Gurgaon, was the companys second largest R&D and global services and support centre.
