The Nano City, as it has been envisioned, will be resource-efficient. It will focus on recycling materials, reducing waste, conserving exhaustible energies and tapping into renewable sources. It plans to embrace circular metabolism where consumption is reduced by implementing efficiencies and where re-use of resources is maximised.

"To facilitate all this, six professors and 15 students from Berkeley (US) will come and do an urban design studio in the second week of January," said Bhatia . He feels architecture is a collective reflection of the spirit, culture , heritage and technological prowess.

Nano City will endeavour to build an architecturally and aesthetically pleasing city that will "inspire and motivate" not just the present but the generations to come. "We have already shortlisted 10 best urban planning designers in the world and would soon zero in on one," he said.

While giving shape to his dream city, Bhatia has not forgotten the farmers. "We would acquire the land ourselves, and the farmers would get so much compensation that they would be happy ," he added.
