Raju may face ‘destruction of evidence’ charge

Satyam’s founder and former chairman B Ramalinga Raju may face serious charge of ‘destruction of evidence’.

NEW DELHI: Satyam���s founder and former chairman B Ramalinga Raju may face serious charge of ���destruction of evidence��� , with CBI saying that the fake Fixed Deposit Receipts (FDRs) were destroyed soon after multi-crore scam came to light.

���... Once the fraud came to light, these original forged FDRs were destroyed, which amounts to destruction of evidence,��� CBI said in its charge sheet.

The charge sheet also mentioned that Raju as Chairman of the company generated fake FDRs of various banks from his personal computer.

The CBI has also found that the fake FDRs were of huge amount as the interest on these deposits was projected to be over Rs 375 crore as against the actual interest income of only Rs 7.42 lakh.
