CHANDIGARH: Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) Mohali has crossed Rs 2,000 crore of software export mark, which is a milestone for a Tier-II city, Punjab Industries and Commerce Minister Anil Joshi said today.

He said that during the financial year 2011-12, the export from this region was Rs 1,942.82 crore and in 2012-13 the export was approximately Rs 2,143.70 crore, while also creating employment opportunity for 30,000 professionals.

Joshi said that Mohali has emerged as the top most Tier-II city in the northern India and has emerged as the second best tier-II city on all India basis.

"Our vision is to deliver statutory and data communication services in more effective way and create a centre of excellence with a special stress on small medium entrepreneurs and young entrepreneurs," the minister said in a statement here.
