Price Waterhouse says representative not into custody

Auditing house Price Waterhouse on Sunday denied its representative had been taken into custody by the Andhra Pradesh police in relation to the Satyam financial fraud case.

NEW DELHI: Auditing house Price Waterhouse on Sunday denied its representative had been taken into custody by the Andhra Pradesh police in relation to the Satyam financial fraud case.

"He is not in custody," a spokesperson of the auditing firm said, reacting to reports that its representative Gopal Krishnan was being questioned by the police in connection with the Rs 7,800 crore fraud disclosed by Satyam's founder Ramalinga Raju.

Raju and his brother Rama Raju are already in police custody and Satyam CFO Vadlamani Srinivas too has been arrested.

Andhra Pradesh police sources had said Gopal Krishnan was picked up for questioning last night, however Inspector General CID V S Kaumdi had denied the development.
