BANGALORE: Enterprise software maker Perpetuuiti TechnoSoft is opening a separate research and development wing in Pune with an investment of $1 million (Rs 6 crore) to focus on building the next generation disaster recovery software.

Cofounded by former Sanovi Technologies employees, Rohil Sharma and Sundar Raman, in 2011, Perpetuuiti provides business continuity planning and disaster recovery services and solutions, through its flagship product, Continuity Patrol.

"In early days, the idea of a product is more important. But as we grow we need to continuously innovate," said CEO Sharma, who is expecting to hit $20 million (Rs 120 crore) in sales in the next two years.

Disaster recovery refers to policies, process and procedures related to preparing recovery of technology infrastructure which are vital to an organisation after a natural or human-induced disaster.

The Intel Capital-backed company, expects ideas from the lab to convert into $15 million in revenue in the near future.

To that end, the 100 employeestrong company has added 20 members to its team last month. The profitable firm has over 30 global customers including Hindustan Unilever, Vodafone, Asian Paints.

The company, which is based in Singapore is also looking to raise $20 million to expand its footprint in Asia Pacific, Europe and Australia.
