COIMBATORE: Software major Pentasoft Technologies will invest Rs 100 crore to set up multiplexes in II and III tier cities of the country in the next two years, a top official of the company said today.

As part of its expansion plans, the company has chosen Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Bhubaneswar and Mysore for the projects, which would have resorts, theme parks, children games and go-carting, Pentasoft CEO Hariharan told reporters here.

The multiplexes would be 'replicas' of the one in Chennai, 'Mayajal', he said.

A sport theme park complex has also been planned at Madurai in Tamil Nadu, Hariharan said.

The company would invest Rs 22 crore in Coimbatore to develop a multiplex in 5-6 acres of land, he said adding that it also proposed to develop a golf course if the adjacent land was available for the purpose.

Hariharan, who released an animation film 'The Legend of Buddha,' produced by Pentamedia and nominated for Oscar, said the company also proposed to start a Multi Media Academy in the Chennai campus in a 1,00,000 sq.ft area, at an investment of Rs six crore, which would become operational in 15 months.
