Patni arm to acquire Carphone’s IPR

MUMBAI: The wholly owned subsidiary of Patni Computer Systems has entered into an agreement with Carphone Warehouse, UK to acquire the worldwide rights to Carphone Warehouse's proprietary intellectual property that enables communication service providers to offer customer management, retail point of sale and billing services for a variety of products and services.

The company intends to use intellectual property for the purpose of software licensing, managed services, provision of re-usable intellectual property led IT services, and provision of hosted or "software -as- a service" solutions. At 12:40 the stock was down 1.75 per cent at Rs 485.
