Oracle offers Siebel, Flexcube in one pkg
A month after the announcement of the formation of its global financial services SBU (FSBU) headed by i-flex officials Rajesh Hukku, Deepak Ghaisas and R Ravisankar, Oracle rolled out the integration of Siebel CRM and Flexcube in one package.
With the new Oracle Process Integration Pack, bank agents can see contact details from Siebel CRM and financial account details from Flexcube, allowing staff to provide informed and prompt service without the delays associated with navigating multiple screens, the enterprise software vendor said at a conference on Thursday. Its results announcement is expected next week, which could provide more financial details.
Interestingly, the FSBU will also provide an integrated suite of industry specific applications for banks, insurance companies and capital market firms. Wherever Oracle does not have the capability, it will integrate with third-party applications to provide the complete software suite. The FSBU will also look at acquisitions in these areas to fill the gaps.
Mr Ravisankar said some of these areas of interest were front-office applications in equities and derivatives, life insurance, insurance billing software, high-end payment engines and credit card processing.
“We can do this fulfilment through third-partnerships or acquisitions,” he said. For insurance billing, an announcement is expected next month integrating an application that is within Oracle’s existing portfolio.
