Oracle fastest growing middleware vendor: Gartner

BANGALORE: Oracle on Tuesday announced that it had been ranked by Gartner as the fastest growing middleware vendor among the top three portal, process and middleware (PPMW) vendors in India in 2006.

In its recent study, "Market share: portal, process and Middleware Software, Asia/Pacific and Japan, 2004-2006," Gartner reports that Oracle's PPMW software posted 81.5 per cent revenue growth in India in 2006, grew more than three times faster than the market as a whole, increasing its market share while Oracle's largest competitor lost share.

In Asia Pacific, Oracle grew 70 per cent, the fastest growing PPMW vendor among the top three portal, process and middleware vendors in 2006, according to Gartner.

With a worldwide growth rate of 45 per cent, Gartner positioned Oracle as the fastest growing PPMW vendor, among the top five providers, in its portal, process and Middleware Software Market Share, worldwide for 2006 report.

A majority of the world's leading organisations use Oracle Fusion Middleware to run, secure, adapt and expand their businesses, including 90 of the fortune 100 companies and 29 of 30 companies making up the Dow Jones Industrial Average.

"In India, Oracle is gaining strong traction with customers," said SPS Grover, Vice President of Technology sales for Oracle India.
