Nokia Store clocks 2 billion downloads in India

Nokia India today said that its application store has clocked 2 billion downloads, of which 1 billion are on the S40 and Asha platform, in the country.

NEW DELHI: Nokia India today said that its application store has clocked 2 billion downloads, of which 1 billion are on the S40 and Asha platform, in the country.

Nokia Store is not only "among the largest in the country, but is also growing at a tremendous pace, with over 80 million downloads a month currently", Nokia said in a statement.

While Action Games have emerged as the number 1 downloaded category, adventure games are second and sport games are at third slot. Entertainment related apps including video & movies at No 4, followed by Utility based apps at No 5, it said.

The Nokia Store client comes pre-loaded on all Nokia S40 devices, Asha devices and the new Nokia Asha 501, delivering one touch access to thousands of localised, branded and relevant apps, it said.
