NIIT Tech acquires Spanish firm Proyecta Sistemas de Informacion SA

NEW DELHI: IT firm NIIT Technologies today said it has acquired Madrid-based software services firm Proyecta Sistemas de Informacion SA for an undisclosed amount.

The acquisition enables NIIT Technologies to enhance its European footprint with Proyecta's successful experience in servicing industry leaders in the travel and financial services segments, NIIT said in a statement.

The move also strengthens NIIT's front-end capabilities for larger European engagements and provides a gateway to traditional Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America, it added.

NIIT Technologies' Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) operations contribute 35 per cent to its global revenues.

"We welcome Proyecta to NIIT Technologies as we strengthen our travel and financial services offerings in the region," NIIT Technologies President Europe Sunil Surya said.

Proyecta, with over 100 consultants, has strong relationships with leading industry players in business intelligence, web and mobility applications.

"NIIT Technologies comprehensive offerings would enable us to provide our customers with a wider and deeper range of services," Proyecta Founder and Director Francisco Izuzquiza said.
