NASSCOM Foundation to award Rs. 70 lakh grant to social enterprises and NGOs

BENGALURU: The NASSCOM India Leadership Forum honoured 10 social enterprises and NGOs that will receive a grant of Rs. 70 lakh and industry-led mentoring through the NASSCOM Foundation.

In its eighth edition, the annual initiative recognises ventures in the ten areas including education, skills and employability, accessibility, health, women's empowerment and youth innovation. Eleven projects were chosen among 1200+ entries this year.

Dr.Ganesh Natarajan, chairman, NASSCOM Foundation, said, "NASSCOM Social Innovation Forum is trying to find and nurture the right fit techno social solutions to create a meaningful impact which results is faster growth of our country," he said. "I would like to congratulate the winners and believe that these solutions can fuel a positive change towards solving the problems."

The winners include vChalk Education, CFBT Education Services, Humana People to People India (HPPI) and Educate Girls for Education; Ranskills Knowledge International and Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled for Skills and Employability; Innovision for Accesibility; Sohum Innovation Labs for health; Sukhibhava Healthcare Solutions for Women's Empowerment; Haqdarshak for Youth Innovation and OnionDev Technologies for Other Social Issues.

The jury that selected winners included Amit Aggarwal, SVP - Learning & Development, Genpact; Arun Seth, non-executive chairman, Alcatel-Lucent, India; BVR Mohan Reddy, founder and executive chairman, Cyient and Chairman, NASSCOM; Ganesh Ayyar, CEO and executive director, Mphasis; Ganesh Natarajan, vice chairman & CEO, Zensar technologies and chairman, NASSCOM Foundation; Neeraj Aggarwal, MD, Boston Consulting Group, India; Sandhya Vasudevan, MD & Chief COO, Deutsche Bank Group India.
