Narayanan to head Satyam's Japan biz development
TO strengthen its operations in Japan, Mahindra Satyam has appointed Hari Narayanan as the head of the business development.
His appointment comes just days after the company roped in Bobby Gupta as head-sales and new business development, in Australia and New Zealand.
In keeping with our aggressive plans for the Asia Pacific region, Mahindra Satyam is strengthening business by growing sales and accelerating momentum thus achieving a dominant presence in this region, Mahindra Satyam head of Asia Pacific, Rohit Gandhi, who is based out of Singapore, said.
Meanwhile, in another development, regulator ICAI on Wednesday agreed to withdraw disciplinary proceedings against the Delhi branch of the audit firm Price Waterhouse in the multicrore Satyam scam.
Advocate CS Vaidyanathan, appearing for Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), agreed to withdraw the proceedings after the Delhi High Court objected to ICAI taking action against the Delhi franchise of the firm without giving any evidence that it was related to PWH, Bangalore which was the statutory auditor of Satyam.
Justice Sanjiv Khanna accepted the plea of the regulator and allowed it to issue fresh notice to the Delhi franchise in case it found any evidence regarding involvement of this firm in the scam.
The court was hearing a petition filed by PWH, Delhi seeking quashing of proceedings initiated against it in the aftermath of Satyam scam, saying these were illegal as it has no connection with the Bangalore-based unit.
Advocate Amit Sibal, appearing for the Delhi firm, submitted that the regulators action were illegal as the Bangalore-based franchise had audited Satyam accounts.
