'Mumbai blasts won't have impact on IT industry'

The serial blasts in Mumbai would have no impact on Indian IT industry, thriving on outsourcing, industry leaders said on Wednesday.

BANGALORE: The serial blasts in Mumbai would have no impact on Indian IT industry, thriving on outsourcing, industry leaders said on Wednesday.

"I don't think the blasts will have an impact," Infosys Technologies Limited's CEO and Managing Director Nandan M Nilekani told reporters here in response to questions.

"We have seen terrorism across the world...New York, London and Madrid. It's a phenomenon in many, many countries. India economic story is intact", he said.

Nilekani termed the blasts as "terrible and shameful act".

The resilience, courage and dynamism with which Mumbai sprung back to life today was a tribute to the enormous strength and fortitude of Mumbaikars, he said.
