MADURAI: Microsoft would initiate a massive programme to sensitise Indian customers to the benefits of using genuine software products, said Brian Campbell, director of Genuine Software Initiative.

Campbell, who was speaking to reporters on Tuesday after attending ‘Confed-ITA’, a federation of 12 Information Technology dealers’ associations to discuss measures for curbing software piracy, said Microsoft was educating people about using various channels.

He said the response to the company’s ‘value original’ campaign was impressive. Another Software Asset Management (SAM) program had been rolled out for the benefit of small and medium vendors, he said.
