NEW DELHI: Angry Birds, one of the most popular mobile games, will soon come out of the digital into the real world when board games and t-shirts based on Angry Birds are launched in the Indian market.

World's largest toymaker Mattel will launch Angry Bird board games, while Dream Theatre, which owns merchandise rights for Superman and Batman as well, will introduce T-shirts, plush toys and accessories sporting Angry Birds logo and characters.

"We are working on adapting Angry Birds into board games and skill action games," said Mattel Toys India commercial director Karun Gera.

Dream Theatre CEO Jiggy George said most of the Angry Bird merchandise will cost up to 500. "We would also look at launching some high-end merchandise," he said.

Angry Birds, which was launched in 2009 by Finland-based Rovio Mobile on iPhone, has fast become a rage among gamers. It continues to be the largest paid application to be downloaded on iPhone in over 79 countries, including India. Mattel owns global rights to sell board games based on the Angry Birds.
