CHENNAI: Chennai police has arrested a man on charges of cheating two people by promising lucrative jobs in software companies according to an IT website.

CHENNAI: Chennai police has arrested a man on charges of cheating two people by promising lucrative jobs in software companies according to an IT website.

A special team of Police arrested Khader Gani of Dindigul on charges of cheating two people by promising them jobs in a software company. His brothers Raffiq Sadiq and Arupukottai Palanichami are absconding.

The accused Khader Gani ran a placement agency called V.Placeu Consultancy in Ram Nagar, Coimbatore. Palanichami, an agent for the consultancy, had approached the youths Anand (Tiruppur) and Satish Kumar (Erode) and promised them jobs in a Bangalore-based software company.

Each paid Rs 1.20 lakh to Palanichami. However, when the two approached the company's `branch office' in Coimbatore, they found that the company had closed down.

The youth had graduated in M.Sc. Software Engineering from Erode.
