Mahindra Satyam plans to play pivotal role in Qatar's IT transformation

NEW DELHI: IT firm Mahindra Satyam today said it plans to play a major role in Qatar's IT transformation, and help in meeting the country's growing demands in the Oil and Gas, Infrastructure, Telecommunications and BFSI segments.

In line with this, the company is participating in QITCOM 2011, the Middle East region's biggest ICT event showcasing Qatar's booming technology industry, which opened today, and will run till May 26, Mahindra Satyam said in a statement.

The company is completely aligned with the Qatar government's ICT vision, placing key focus on the move towards better e-Governance and 'analytics' for key decision makers.

During their participation at QITCOM 2011, Mahindra Satyam will be highlighting key services that will prove to be essential components in various industry verticals. These services would include Business Intelligence and Dashboard for Government and Corporate Leaders.

A recent IDC report has identified these segments as large IT spenders, expanding the Qatar ICT market to a double digit compound annual growth rate to reach a value of USD 3.7 billion by 2013.

"The decision to hold the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar has driven in an influx of major development projects, many of which carry ICT components that can help attract more IT spending to varying degrees," Mahindra Satyam Vice President and Head for Middle East and North Africa Bobby Gupta said.
