Mahindra Satyam launches Offshore Development Centre

HYDERABAD: Mahindra Satyam, the new brand identity of Satyam Computer Services Ltd, on Wednesday announced the launch of an Offshore Development Centre (ODC) for BASF IT Services at one of its offices in Chennai.

The ODC was inaugurated by Dr Ralf Sonnberger, Managing Director, BASF IT Services in the presence of an executive delegation from BASF IT Services and Mahindra Satyam.

The state-of-the-art ODC for BASF IT Services housed in Mahindra Satyam's development centre in Chennai provides managed services for the company's extensive installed base of SAP, messaging and groupware as well as user administration.

Speaking at the launch of the ODC, Dr Sonnberger, Managing Director, BASF IT Services, said the development will serve as a great platform for further business value opportunities.

"We have experienced great quality and considerable efficiency gains in our engagement with Mahindra Satyam till date. We are confident of enjoying the same, in the years to come," Sonnberger said.

The setup of this ODC is aimed at enabling process and quality enhancements thereby helping BASF to deliver world- class services at competitive prices to its customers. Currently, there are 150 associates operating out of this ODC with plans to ramp up to 500 associates by 2011 in order to extend services to BASF in North and South America and for the Asia Pacific region.
