NEW DELHI: IT training firm NIIT has announced an initiative called ‘ Cloud Campus’, which is aimed at providing new-age skills to students across the country, NIIT said in a statement.

The firm said Cloud Campus aims to provide new-age training programmes in IT, banking, global finance, management and digital and social media marketing through the cloud technology. The company aims to offer over 100 courses across 300 locations by the end of 2013, enabling a coverage of over 500,000 students by 2014.

Cloud Campus features include a cloud classroom where students can interact and learn from not only the at-location faculty, but also from expert faculty across locations, cloud courseware-the digital courseware which enables students to make notes, highlight and review at their convenience, anywhere lab, providing 24x7 access for hands-on practice on their devices, and lessons on demand, which ensures that students do not have to miss a lesson, even if they miss a class.

“This will help take high quality educational programmes to the remotest corners of the country,” Rajendra S Pawar, chairman of NIIT said in a statement. “NIIT has set up - niitcloudcampus.comas - a student gateway to help them identify trends in new age skills,” he added.
