Haryana government on Wednesday launched its first information technology park in Panchkula, having a potential of generating employment for 40,000 people.

CHANDIGARH: Haryana government on Wednesday launched its first information technology park in Panchkula, having a potential of generating employment for 40,000 people.

The state government has proposed to set up units for sectors such as IT, ITES, robotics, nano technology, mobile computing, mobile communication, chip manufacturing, biotechnology including genetics and other R & D facilities in the park.

The Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) had allotted 97 acres of land for development of this park between the hills adjoining Gurudwara Nada Sahib along National Highway No 73 and Ghaggar River.

A sum of over Rs 8.50 crore has so far been incurred on various developmental works in the park.
