Intex appoints Sumit Sehgal as CMO

MUMBAI: In a bid to strengthen its management, Intex Technologies Thursday appointed Sumit Sehgal as its Chief Marketing Officer to lead brand transformation and conceptualise marketing initiatives across the various business lines of the company.

“With demonetisation, as India approaches a new economic era we see the purchasing power of the middle class India sky-rocketing. We are looking at capturing the lion’s share in all our segments of business in India", Sehgal, who was formerly vice president of marketing at Max Life Insurance, said in a statement.

Sehgal's appointment comes after a slew of other appointments, including that of Yashpal Soni as CIO in November, and other appointments in positions like senior vice president and product head, since the company had almost come to a standstill due to lack of product roadmap and strategy, among other factors.


The company recently saw an exodus of 200 employees, loss of senior management and a September quarter share of 9.3% against 9.6% in the same period last year.

An alumnus of IMT Ghaziabad, Sehgal is a tenured marketer with over two decades of experience in sales and marketing with companies such as JWT, Bharti Teletech, ITC and Max Life.
