Intel ropes in HCL, IBM for new server
In an attempt to provide high performance business computing to enterprise customers, global microprocessor giant Intel has roped in top manufacturers like HCL, HP, IBM and Dell to incorporate its next generation server and workstation platforms.
We are working with HCL, HP, IBM and Dell to offer high-end computing to the enterprise customers by incorporating our 'Dual-Core Intel Xeon Processor 5000 series', which will deliver high and energy efficient performance, Intel Director Marketing, South Asia, G B Kumar said on Friday.
He hoped by July the companies would be ready to roll out servers and workstations incorporating the dual-core platforms.
Kumar said, "These platforms can guarantee high performance, energy efficient processors with a majority of them consuming a maximum of 65 watts. The server and workstation platforms, code named 'Bensley' and 'Glidewell' respectively, can also give faster and more reliable memory."
