BANGALORE: IT major Infosys was working on a new technology "magic mirror" with a well-known retailer for its deployment.

"We are working with a well-known retailer in deploying magic mirror technology and I do not want to disclose the name of the company now", Infosys Chief Mentor N R Narayanamurthy said and did not elaborate.

In his keynote address at the India's 'Greatest Technology Leaders conference' here,he stressed the need for more research, innovations and presenation of more number of papers and filing for patents in the IT sector.

The country hitherto did not witness much innovations as it has been focussing only on delivery of software he said.

At least 500 patent applications were under process in USA and 650 scientists are working in various laboratories, Murthy said during an interactive session at which participants addressed several queries to the Infosys founder.

Murthy disapproved the tendency by Corporates to give last priority to IT in the wake of global meltdown, which he described as a "wrong approach".
