Infosys in global BPO deal with Royal Philips
Infosys has won a $250 mn contract from the Netherlands-based major and said will acquire three BPO centres from the Dutch company for $28 mn.
The company has won a $250 million contract from the Netherlands-based major and said will acquire three BPO centres from the Dutch company for $28 million.
Infosys will also acquire three shared service centers located in India, Poland and Thailand from Phillips.
The contract is amongst the largest finance and accounting BPO engagements from India and will expand Infosys' global network, particularly strengthening its European operations, Infosys said in a notice to NSE.
Infosys will gain around 1,400 Philips professionals, the company said.
Infosys BPO has seen growth of over 70 per cent in revenue and an increase in client base of over one-third in 2006-08 (Apr-Mar).
The Infosys share ended 0.68 per cent higher at Rs 1,989.95. Intra-day, the stock touched a high of Rs 2,010 and low of Rs 1,950. The BSE counter clocked a volume of 4,07,681 against two-week average of 4,71,247 shares
