IBS ties up with Malaysia Airlines

Leading IT solutions provider for the global travel, transportation and logistics industry, IBS, has signed a long-term contract with Malaysia Airlines .

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Leading IT solutions provider for the global travel, transportation and logistics industry, IBS, has signed a long-term contract with Malaysia Airlines (MAS). Accordingly, IBS will deploy its crew management system AvientCrew for the airline. IBS chairman and CEO V K Mathews said the solution would enhance the operational agility and productivity of MAS crew.

IBS officials said the airline industry, faced with declining passenger and cargo movements and an estimated loss of over $ 9 billion in 2009, was looking at innovative, new generation IT solutions to liberate themselves from expensive legacy systems and thereby reduce overall cost of operations. IBS' solution for crew management is used by six major airlines, company officials said.
