IBS buys US firm VISaer

IBS Software, a Kerala-headquartered IT solutions provider for the travel, transportation and logistics industry, has acquired US-based VISaer for an undisclosed sum.

BANGALORE: IBS Software, a Kerala-headquartered IT solutions provider for the travel, transportation and logistics industry, has acquired US-based VISaer for an undisclosed sum to gain access to market for airline maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) solutions.

The acquisition from VISaer and its parent Intelligent Systems involves the operating assets of VISaer in the US and UK, its employees, global customer base and the web-based MRO software system.

���The acquisition of VISaer is a strategic decision. The emergence of India as a global aerospace engineering hub will help us gauge developments in the industry and progressively enhance the product���s functionality to cater to both the global as well as the Indian aviation��� CEO V K Mathews said. This is IBS��� fifth acquisition. Its previous buys include TopAir, Avient Technologies, Discovery Travel Systems and Hotel Booking Solutions.

Started in 1997, IBS has around 2,000 staff and has development centres in India and abroad. It���s targetting a revenue of Rs 1,000 crore by 2010.
