IBM, Broadline launches knowledge centre in Chennai

CHENNAI: City-based Broadline Computer Systems (P) Ltd and IBM on Friday announced the launch of a "Proof of Concept Knowledge Centre" here.

The IBM-Broadline Knowledge Centre would provide various services for the customers to test the performance of a wide range of enterprise applications in different back-end platforms including Oracle Database and Lotus Domia, and Operating Systems of Windows, Uni, Linux and AIX and Broadline Managing Director Dr M Arumugam told reporters here.

The Knowledge Centre has been set up at a cost of Rs 50 lakhs.

"Now, customers of enterprise applications can have a hands-on experience, physical look and test the performance of the application in a real world scenario," Jyothi Sathyanathan, Country Business Manager-P Series, IBM India, said.

The centre would also enable customers to port and test their applications, he said.

The Knowledge Centre was expected to test the performance of around 50 large enterprise solutions and register a turnover of Rs three crore in the first year, Arumugam said adding it would cater to at least 75 to 100 end user organisations every month.

Broadline is an IT consulting company, and also provides hardware, software development, customisation and system integration and networking.
