IBM bets on Tivoli to prop up revenues

IBM plans to gain more revenues from its product Tivoli, which helps companies such as DLF and Ranbaxy manage and integrate their information technology assets.

BANGALORE: At a time when customers are spending lower on software services, IBM plans to gain more revenues from its product Tivoli, which helps companies such as DLF and Ranbaxy manage and integrate their information technology assets, and reduce their operational costs by up to 40%.

���We want to be technology partner with the government in creating the infrastructure that will support the healthcare, defence and BFSI,��� said Joao P Perez, vice-president worldwide sales for Tivoli Software.

The market opportunity for the software, servers, technologies and services to manage the world���s converged IT and physical infrastructure will be $122 billion by 2012, according to research firm IDC. ���We have outsourced our entire management infrastructure to IBM, and it is helping us to reduce our operational costs,��� said Upal Chakraborty, CIO of DLF.
