IBM acquires Webify Solutions, Indian US firm

NEW YORK: Global IT giant IBM has acquired privately-held Webify Solutions founded by Indian American Manoj Saxena.

Although the financial terms have not been disclosed, IBM has said that around 120 employees of Webify working in Texas and Mumbai would become part of IBM. Saxena will continue to manage Webify and will undertake additional responsibilities for IBM's Service Oriented Architecture strategy

"IBM has acquired Webify Solutions an Austin, Texas, privately held provider of industry-specific software and services for building service oriented architectures (SOA)", IBM said in a statement. This architectures helps companies to have greater efficiencies, cost savings and productivity.

It provides hundreds of industry-specific, pre-built standards-based accelerators, tools and frameworks. With this acquisition, IBM will expand into the fast-growing mark@t of integrating corporate software systems.

Texas-based Webify Technology will be immediately integrated into IBM Software Group under the WebSphere brand.
